Our Fabrics
What material do you actually need for what?
What do the fabrics look like in detail and what are the advantages and disadvantages for which sewing project?
If you need help in making a decision, you've come to the right place - because we'd be happy to tell you more about our range.
...however, all of our fabrics have one thing in common: they are of absolutely outstanding quality and will convince you all along the line!
minky fabrics
Minky fabrics are particularly suitable for making stuffed animals, appliqués, toys, sewing baby nests, blankets, pillows and decorative items. They are durable and washable. Minky is made from 100% polyester and has a short pile (fur length). This fabric is incredibly soft, smooths out in one direction and stretches in the weave direction. Our fabric hummel minky fabrics are OEKO-TEX 100 certified and meet the DIN 71-3 standard.
Stuffed bumblebee Minky
Our fabric bumblebee minky is very hard-wearing, weighs 380g/m2 and can be washed at 30 degrees without any problems.
Minky is a short-pile plush fabric with a pile length of 3mm.
It only has a slight stretch to one side, while the Shannon Minky is much more "stretchy".
You can use our stuffed bumblebee Minky for everything that needs to be cuddly - stuffed animals, hobby horses, blankets, appliqués, quilts, pillows, blankets... and whatever else you can think of.
If you embroider your plush toys completely with the embroidery machine, it could sometimes be a bit tricky to turn the fabric - in this case you should reach for a slightly thinner Minky, like the Shannon Minky!
Shannon Minky Cuddle 3
Just like our stuffed bumblebee minky, the Shannon Minky can be used for just about anything. Shannon is the best-known manufacturer of Minky fabrics and that's why you can rely on the outstanding quality of this fabric (quality also has its price...).
In contrast to the stuffed bumblebee Minky, sold-out colors are available again quite quickly - and that's what makes Shannon Minky stand out: a huge color palette. Shannon alone offers three shades of white (Snow, White, Natural) and a number of vibrant colors.
The Shannon Minky can be used particularly well for appliqués or smaller ITH plush toys, as it is slightly thinner and stretchier than our stuffed bumblebee Minky. This way the work won't be that fiddly.
Of course you can also use it for large projects, no problem!
Shannon Sparkle Cuddle
Shannon Sparkle Cuddle is a beautiful sparkling minky fabric.
He has the same features as the "normal" Cuddle Minky, but contains foil glitter dots - but don't worry, he's still incredibly cuddly and you hardly notice the glitter!
Mochi Minky
Our Mochi Minky is an absolute novelty that is otherwise hardly available on the German market! Many of you are probably familiar with plush toys that are made from the same material - they are particularly soft and can be hugged, pulled and stretched. Anyone who knows "Squishmallows" knows what Mochi Minky is, because they are made from it.
Mochi Minky is a little thicker than regular Minky, has a 1mm pile and stretches infinitely. Together with our Mochi Minky fiberfill , you can use it to create the softest creations!
Stuffed bumblebee Minky Exclusives
You will like our exclusive minky fabrics, we promise!
They are super vibrant and digitally printed. Basically, our white fabric bumblebee minky was used for this, so our own productions have the same feel and the same properties.
faux furs
Just like Minky, you can use our faux fur for almost anything that needs to be cuddly. Above all, our Bunny Fur will enchant you at first glance, because it is the softest fabric you have ever held in your hands.
Most of our customers use our artificial skins for costume construction (fursuits) - because the skins are dense, soft and trimmable.
We import the shaggy fur directly from the manufacturer in the USA, and the bunny fur was also imported by the manufacturer.
BigZ Fabrics Long Pile Shaggy Fur
As the name suggests, our shaggy fur was made by BigZ Fabrics, so it's imported from the USA.
Why do we import fabrics? To guarantee you the best possible quality! And after a number of fabric samples and field reports, this beautiful faux fur won.
Our shaggy fur is super dense, easy to trim and the quality is unbeatable.
It is mainly used for the production of costumes (fursuits), but can also be used for stuffed animals, pillows, blankets, decorative items and much more.
Fluffy Rabbit Fur
Our Luxurious Fluffy Rabbit Fur is by far the softest fabric in our range and that's saying something - because all our plush fabrics are super soft!
Rabbit Fur is a short-pile fur with a pile length of about 1.2cm. It is super dense and, if you want it even shorter, can also be trimmed.
Like our Minky, Rabbit Fur is easy to care for and can be machine washed at 30 degrees.
The back (backing) is smooth and a little smooth.
You can use our Rabbitfur, like most other fabrics, for anything that needs to be cuddly soft - it's especially great for larger stuffed animals!
Shannon Luxe Cuddle
Shannon Luxe Cuddle is comparable to our Rabbit Fur, both fabrics are great to combine with each other. Luxe Cuddle is a bit thinner though.
....by the way, all fabrics can be combined wonderfully , if you should combine stuffed bumblebee minky with Shannon Cuddle, this is also possible without any problems!
cotton and jersey fabrics
In addition to our plush fabrics, more and more cotton and jersey fabrics are also being added to the range. As a rule, these are self-designed fabrics that are only available from Stoffhummel. Cotton is mainly used to make bags, decorative items, blankets, cushions, etc. French terry and jersey are elastic fabrics that are mainly used in the manufacture of clothing. All these fabrics are OEKO TEX 100 certified.
canvas cotton
Canvas cotton is a fairly thick cotton fabric, it is particularly suitable for decorations and utensils, such as bags. For clothing, it is only recommended to a limited extent.
satin cotton
Satin cotton is a little thinner than canvas cotton, has a nice sheen and is great for clothing. Of course, like canvas cotton, you can sew decorations and things like bags out of it.
jersey
Jersey is a wonderful clothing fabric, it stretches in one direction and is particularly popular for dresses, shirts and jogging pants.
French terry
French terry is also a great clothing fabric. In contrast to the jersey, this one has a slightly roughened back (don't worry, it's still comfortable to wear on the skin!).
French terry, also known as summer sweat, is a little thicker than jersey and is therefore mainly used for light pullovers, hoodies and jogging pants.
